I started playing drums when I was 10 years old and have had the opportunity to play with many different groups from Concert Bands, Marching Bands, Jazz Bands and Pit Orchestras over the years so I am versatile and able to play many different styles of music. In the mid 80’s I played with “C.S. and Company”, a Contemporary Country Band, around the Northern California area and also did Musicals with “West of Broadway” and “The Davis Players”. I took a hiatus during the time when my 2 boys were young so I could spend time with them. In the late 90’s I joined “Over Forte”, a Dixieland Jazz Band and played with them until 2008. I was also playing off and on with “The Yolo County Concert Band” during this same time. Since then I have played with “The Surf- Liners”, an instrumental surf band, “Lynette Kimura and the Blue Tones”, Jazz standards and show tunes, as well as filling in once in a while for the Dixieland band and occasionally play for Musicals at the Woodland Opera House. More recently I have played with “It’s About Time”, a 17-piece Big Band playing music from the Thirties and Forties like Glen Miller, Count Basie and Harry James along with some more modern tunes and with “Shake Don’t Stir”, a Jazz quartet consisting of Piano, Tenor Sax, Bass and Drums. We played many of the Jazz Standards and also few original tunes. I am currently playing with the Worship Band at Adventure Church of Yuba City and a band called Machaira that plays for outreaches for the homeless and less fortunate.

I have been teaching drums off and on over the past 25 years.
